Your privacy choices
Freedom Fone gives every user the core controls below, regardless of country. Your local law may provide additional rights. Read the full Privacy Policy for data categories, purposes, providers, locations and retention periods.
Controls inside the app
- Message retention: choose deletion after a received message is read or an outgoing send attempt completes, after 24 hours, after one week, or manually.
- Contact recovery: local contact access does not upload your address book. Encrypted cloud recovery is separate and optional. Under Account → Contact recovery, choose Turn off and delete backup to remove the cloud and restored in-app copies without deleting your phone's address book.
- Advertising tracking removed on iOS: iOS build 42 and later have no Meta advertising SDK, advertising identifiers, advertising-measurement events or optional ad-measurement switch. No tracking permission is requested. In earlier Android builds through version code 27 and iOS test builds through build 39, turn off Account → Privacy & deletion → Optional ad measurement to stop new Meta events. Previously dispatched data cannot be recalled by Fortress. See the Privacy Policy for the legacy-build disclosure.
- Account deletion: release active numbers under Numbers, then choose Account → Delete account. If you cannot sign in, use the web deletion route.
Make a privacy request
Email from the address registered to the account. We may ask for proportionate confirmation that protects the account, but do not send a password, identity document or payment-card number unless we provide a secure and necessary route.
Use the in-app or web deletion route.
No sale or cross-context advertising
Fortress does not sell personal data or use message or call content for advertising. The updated iOS app does not track users across other companies’ apps or websites, and no consent to advertising measurement is needed to use its communications features.
Website storage
The public site uses no marketing cookies or third-party analytics. It stores one local colour-theme preference. The authenticated top-up page temporarily stores its access token in browser session storage so you remain signed in during that session. Sign out to remove it immediately.
Response and complaints
We respond to valid UK requests within one calendar month and honour any shorter mandatory period that applies where you live. If you are unhappy with our response, contact us first; UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
